If anyone has bought a sick puppy (small breed) from Dogs4Us during the last 12 months could you please contact me?

Thanks.
Grotbag
Why?

Have you bought one from them?
Are you putting an article together?
Mere curiousity?

Max is originally from Dogs4Us - My vet is giong to check him over tomorrow night, but so far he seems fine - but I don't know how well he has been checked to date. I hope I don't have any ammo for you!!

If anyone has picked up an ex Dogs4us puppy in rescue, that is probably useful info too, if you are looking to complain about them. wink.gif

Thanks for your replies.

Just helping to put an article together smile.gif

I got my Arthur from there but it was 4 years ago. He came with ear mite and worm infestation and has had aggression problems from day one til present day.

I know your post was for people who have bought themselves however I live near (ish) to the Manchester branch so see many dogs from there.

Within the last 12 months I know of a man who adopted a boxer which died within two weeks of him having it, he then went back and got another boxer pup which had serious health problems and he returned it. They then let him take a chow and a border collie together on the same day.

An aqcuaintance of mine was working on the site around five moinths ago as an electrician and bought a boxer puppy on a whim. Although she is very well cared for and loved she did arrive with ear mites and worms and he had to intensively socialise her.

I did used to walk a very aggressive and unsocialised cocker spaniel who was from there and read their contract and returns policy but this was over 2 years ago now. This little lady had no physical health problems but had been adopted along with another cocker on the same day (I assume litter mate) and then given to my client when they realised they could not cope with two.

heather&lola, thanks for that info. If needed, do you think this man would come forward?

What is really wanted is for someone who has bought a small handbag size dog to speak out as this is what the article will be about.

Thanks for your help smile.gif

My dog is being checked tonight, was meant to be last night but they had an emergency. I will PM later. Out of interest, why the interest in small breeds? And the contact above - who is this? Sorry if I've missed something.

They have an email address which is the same as the name of the pet shop... I assume that is where they are from... err.gif

A high Street Puppy Farm! mad.gif
ronnie
If you look closer Kev you will see we are a different name and we are an anti puppy farming website

http://www.dogs-r-us.org/ do you really think the other place would dare to post on here, but thats ok we will go ahead regardless smile.gif

I would question why they chose that domain name - I'm sure many people make the same mistake when distinguishing them from each other. Bit too close for comfort.
ronnie
No worries kev ok.gif its easy mistake to make as some of their potential customers find out when they google the name of the store lol.gif so it does come in handy at times .

That's what I was just thinking, I'm sure people have been put off going to the pet store through incorrect searching. smile.gif

But that's just it - it doesn't come up when you search google. Certainly not on the first page, at least - which is what most people look at.

Actually when you Google Dogs R Us it comes up with this:

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=Dogsrus&meta=

Which is another puppy selling site... nothing about cruelty and puppy farms.. ?? Strange.. I don't know how people would be able to google your site??
Timbellemia
I suppose it depends what words you put into google err.gif I know a number have people have told us they came across the site while googling puppy farms - others have said they found it while looking for this pet store.
dbpayne
actually I put dogs r us into google and it came up with the right site, 2nd item down the list so practically at the top.

I had a look at the sight too...i like the posters against puppy farming, they could be useful smile.gif

Well, we are all anonymous strangers on the interweb (including me lol.gif ), but Ronnie did PM me and explain why they are asking. The reason is perfectly valid, but as I said she's a random stranger, so am I, so are you....so it's up to you. Why not ask for more details from the OP by PM? smile.gif

err.gif OMG the puppy farm videos, crying.gif just shows how ridiculous the KC registration is, there is no way anyone could tell who the parents were.

Google works on the number of hits doesn't it? So the more people who click on the link above, the more chance it has as being listed in a higher rank than the actual pet shop itself, hence more people will then click on the link above by mistake ( which is what we want )

I love the way you have used the name, I think it's an excellent idea! well done!
ronnie
Thanks Crazydog, just last week we had site mail from someone in Wakefield asking for the address of new Leeds store , I hope after we replied the sender didn't bother lol.gif
