Image POUND PUPPY RESCUE

When Jayne discovered that puppies born in council pounds were being killed because they could not find homes for them she setup Pound Puppy Rescue. Having rescued the puppies she could not leave the hundreds of adult/ancient dogs and cats, and the kittens at the pounds to die just because they did not have a home to go to. Then she found that breeders would kill their rejects so she took those in too. AND then there are the other animals! These pets stay in foster homes looked after by our volunteers in the area around Poole, Bournemouth and Weymouth, Dorset, Andover and Basingstoke, Hants until they find a suitable home. Hundreds of healthy dogs are being killed in the UK every week for want of a home. If you think you can help by fostering a dog or cat, or fund raising or just advertising Pound Puppy Rescue in your local shop please phone 0773 6176613 or 01202 623078. We will home a pet outside Dorset, home checks and circumstances permitting. Phone to check what is required from you.

LUCY - Cross breed, neutered female, 5 years approx, small size.

ImageImage

Lucy is a sweet little girl, very loving, but still a little timid with new people. She needs more lead training as she is quite strong for a little girl. Lucy does not like other dogs. She is good with children and loves to play fetch if you can get her to give up her toy. She can be left on her own for a little while. In all she is a lovely girl that needs her forever home without other animals.

Fostered by Tina in Andover.

Phone 0773 6176613 10am-6pm for more information.

BILLY - Kelpie cross?, neutered male, 10-11 months approx, medium size.

Billy is a wonderful boy who needs a special home. He is very nervous of fast moving men and children and can be known to pull on their sleeves or trouser legs. When given the time to get used to them he will go up to men for a fuss and happily sit with children on the floor or sofa. Billy is microchipped, vaccinated and neutered. He is clean in the house but will want to stop at every tree to check the 'wee-mail' and leave his own message. He is fantastic off lead but for some unknown reason terrible on the lead but we are working on this. Billy needs an understanding home with calm older children that are active with him. Fostered with Jayne.

For more information please call Jayne on 0773 617 6613 between 10am and 6pm.

The dogs in the photo are Peggie (tan), Billy (black), Benny (brown brindle) and Oscar (black with white chest). These four wonderful dogs are all looking for their forever homes. They are all fostered with Jayne. They are all good with other dogs and house/crate trained. For more information about these dogs please call Jayne on 0773 617 6613 between 10am and 6pm.

BAILEY - Akita/Staffie cross, neutered female, 8 months approx, medium size.

ImageImage

Bailey needs an experienced home. She is not particularly good with other dogs and preferably we would like her to have a home without other animals. She is great with people, loves attention and loves food. As long as you are firm with her she will do as she is told but she is very smart and will take advantage of a softer owner. She is house trained and crate trained. She will walk well on a Halti but pulls on a normal lead and collar. Bailey is fully vaccinated, neutered and is microchipped.

Fostered with Louise.

Phone 0773 6176613 10am-6pm for more information.

Kerry's BLANE - Boxer cross?, neutered male, 10 months approx, medium size.

Image
Image
Image

Blane is a good rounded lad, he just loves everyone. He will need an experienced home as he does not like some males. He is a strong boy on the lead and responds well most of the time when walking but occasionally he will pull. Very gentle with children, no signs of aggression at all. He is house trained and not destructive or vocal. Blane is a real foody so training should be easy with someone in the know. At meal times he has his kibble spread out to stop him gobbling it down without chewing. He knows basic commands but is strong on a lead so needs some lead training. Blane is big baby that just wants a new family of his own. Blane is neutered, fully vaccinated, wormed, deflead and microchipped.

Fostered with Kerry/Shaun in Poole.

EBONY and TARA - Poodle, female, senior, small size.

Image
ImageImage

Ebony and Tara are two very elderly female Toy Poodles, brought in to PPAR when their owner had to move home and could not take them to the new accommodation.

Between them they have six teeth and one working eye, although Ebony does have some light/dark vision. Ebony also has a severe heart condition, however that does not stop her enjoying a fairly active life. They eat a soft food diet and require little exercise.

Because Ebony and Tara are so old and will need veterinary attention, PPAR has decided to support them in long term foster care, covering all costs. They need to be kept together. They would be best in a home without small children or young, active dogs. They are currently living with an elderly blind Yorkie that they get on well with.

If you could offer these two lovable little dogs a retirement home please contact Jayne on 0773 6176613 10am-5pm.

Eva is a little cracker. She is good with dogs and older children, clean when left and does not chew. She loves her cuddles and likes nothing better than to curl up on the sofa. She needs a family that can continue her training.

Fostered with Lee Anne.

SHADOW - Husky, neutered female, 1-2 years approx, medium size.

Image
Image

Shadow is a typical Husky. She needs someone who knows the breed as she can be a bit of a diva. She is one of those rare Husky's that does not like other dogs. She is excellent on the lead and does not actively try to get to other dogs and will ignore them if they leave her alone. Shadow is very affectionate towards people and loves a bear hug and cuddles. She is house trained and crate trained She prefers to sleep in her crate. She is good with food, bones and chews. This dog will need an experienced home. Shadow has one brown eye and one blue eye but this does not affect her vision. She is fully vaccinated and neutered.

Fostered with Jayne.

MATT - Poodle cross?, neutered male, 12 years approx, small size.

Image
Image

Matt is a quiet boy who is looking for a quiet home. He is good with dogs and children. He is vaccinated, microchipped, and has a passport.

Update 10th October 2014: Matt's kennel cough was lingering too long so Jayne asked the vet whether it could be an infection in his thorax. Tom said he would X-ray Matt while sorting out his teeth and neutering him. So poor old Matt went in for a 'full service' and while under anaesthetic it was discovered that his heart was 40% enlarged. Tom contacted Jayne immediately to see whether we wanted to continue with Matt's treatment since he is believed to be 12 years old. The prognosis was that he could live 2 weeks or 5 years and will need medication for the rest of his life. Those of you who know Matt would agree that he is a lively boy, still loves his walks, jumps into your arms, loves a fuss and is a little greedy guts with his food so to let him go did not seem right, so it was decided to go ahead with all the work needed. With the vet account even further in the red and minus 16-18 teeth Matt came home, still a little dopey but this morning he was raring to go and ran out of the door for his walk with Judith. We feel the right decision was made. If you would like to help with funding Matt's medical treatment please see our donations page. Thank you.

Fostered with Jayne.
