Image POUND PUPPY RESCUE

When Jayne discovered that puppies born in council pounds were being killed because they could not find homes for them she setup Pound Puppy Rescue. Having rescued the puppies she could not leave the hundreds of adult/ancient dogs and cats, and the kittens at the pounds to die just because they did not have a home to go to. Then she found that breeders would kill their rejects and old breeders so she took those in too. AND then there are the other animals! These pets stay in foster homes looked after by our volunteers in the area around Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Weymouth in Dorset, Andover and Basingstoke in Hampshire until they find a suitable home. Hundreds of healthy dogs are being killed in the UK every week for want of a home. If you think you can help by fostering a dog or cat, or fund raising or just advertising Pound Puppy Rescue in your local shop please phone 0773 6176613 or 01202 623078. We will home a pet outside Dorset, home checks and circumstances permitting. Phone to check what is required from you.

BILLY - Kelpie cross?, neutered male, 2 years approx, medium size.

Billy is a wonderful boy who needs a special home. He is very nervous of fast moving men and children. When given the time to get used to them he will go up to men for a fuss and happily sit with children on the floor or sofa. He is clean in the house and good with food. He is fantastic off lead though not good on the lead but we are working on this. Billy is crate trained and uses it as a safety net when meeting new people, but does come out given the time. He is microchipped, vaccinated and neutered. Billy needs an understanding home with calm older children that are active with him. Fostered with Jayne.

For more information please call Jayne on 0773 617 6613 between 10am and 6pm.

Dave's SADIE - Belgian Shepherd/Collie cross?, neutered female, 7 years approx, medium-large size.

Sadie came to us from a home that could not give her enough attention. She is a lively, intelligent girl, who loves to be with people. She likes to play with dog toys, and enjoys being petted. She pulls when on a lead, but walks quite well if using a 'halti' harness. She is very good off the lead, and loves to run around the park. She may have spent a lot of her time outdoors, but she seems quite settled in our home. She will make a great family pet, or would be equally happy with a single person/couple and, perhaps, in a household with no other dogs.

For more information see Sadie's webpage by clicking here

Fostered with Dave and Debbie in Christchurch.

Phone 0773 6176613 10am-6pm if you are interested in meeting this dog.

Jayne's JACK - Jack Russell Terrier cross, neutered male, 2 years approx, small size.

Jack is not good around dogs or cats. He would benefit from a home with older children and no pets. He is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and has a passport.

Fostered by Jayne in Poole.

Phone 0773 6176613 10am-6pm for more information.

TOBY - Lurcher, neutered male, 2 years approx, medium size.

Toby has just been rescued from a council pound. Now that he is in a foster home he will put on some weight. He is a friendly, sociable dog, good with people, dogs and the children he has met so far. He is house trained and walks well on the lead, although he is easily spooked by strange noises.

Fostered with Cliff and Anne near Blandford Forum.

PUZZLE - Labrador cross, neutered male, 18 months approx, medium size.

Puzzle is the survivor of a traffic accident. He has undergone surgery but this has left him with a slight facial deformity. He also appeared to have suffered some mild brain damage, which has left him unsure how to socialise with other dogs, but this is not serious and it should improve with gentle training. He is happy-go-lucky, well mannered with food and he loves to play with people. Puzzle is house trained, neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.

Fostered by Jayne.

Phone 0773 6176613 10am-6pm for more information.
