We are a small independent organisation dedicated to the re-homing of stray, abandoned and unwanted dogs. We work closely with the local council dog pound, finding new homes for stray dogs in the Herefordshire area, and across the UK. Whenever possible these dogs are placed into foster homes prior to re-homing so we can find out how they react in a home environment. www.hwanimalrescue.org

We rehome throughout the UK, subject to a homecheck. We ask for a minimum donation, and an adoption agreement must signed. If a dog is not already spayed/neutered, we issue a voucher to help with the cost of this at the appropriate time.

We do not rehome young dogs/pups with people that work full time, or are away from home for long periods.

Dogs are coming into our care daily, so always contact the rescue if you are looking to adopt, as we may have one suitable

We ask that you come and meet the dog, bringing family and other dogs in the home to meet them.

Marlon, what a mixture


Although Marlon came in from the stray pound we have managed to find out his history. He is 11 months old, Dad was a Sharpei x Rottweiller, Mum a Pointer x Newfoundland. He is a great big goofy puppy, loves to play but doesnt know his own strength. Equally, he is desperate to be the biggest lap dog in the world, he adores cuddles and can be very squidgy and gentle.

Connie, deaf Collie girl appx 3 years old


Connie was picked up as a stray, her owners were contacted but didnt want her back because she was deaf and unable to work.

She doesnt seem like a working dog, she is in good condition and certainly knows love. She likes nothing better than cuddles and tummy rubs.

Luca - cracking Heinz 57, about 12 months old.



Another stray dog from Herefordshire whose owner didnt come forward. He is a fun loving dog, who loves to play. A bit ditzy on the lead but tries to please, bless him.

Meet our gorgeous little Hazel



Probably around 8 months old despite being abandoned by her owners she has no issues and is a happy go lucky little girl who just loves everyone. She is a real joy.

Mac - GSD - 18mths old




Although Mac came in as a stray we do have his history. He has had a poor start in life and his condition shows this. With good food, veterinary care and with loads of tlc he is coming on very well. He is initially nervous of strangers but once he has met you a couple of times he is your new best friend.

He has all the makings of a great companion, just needs that special someone to call his own.

Teddy - Chinese Crested Powder Puff - 18mths old



Young Teddy is being rehomed from his own home. His owners circumstances have changed and she is unable to look after him any longer.

She will freely admit that he has been thoroughly spoilt and as such does have some issues, nothing too serious, he just needs training and a sensible owner.
