Many Tears Rescue is a rescue based in South Wales but we also have dogs in foster throughout the UK. We have many dogs that are waiting to find love. We rescue mainly ex-breeding dogs, but also help with some of the death row dogs from the pounds.

All adult dogs are spayed/neutered, micro chipped, inoculated, wormed and kennel cough vaccinated. All puppies are wormed, micro chipped, inoculated and KC vaccinated. A declaration will be signed at time of adoption requiring a new owner to spay or neuter a puppy.

We are looking for wonderful, responsible, forever homes. That means asking questions and trying to marry up the correct pet with the prospective new owner. We are not judgmental but we have a very large responsibility to make sure we do what's right for our dogs and you. We don't have regimental rules on what homes are suitable but there are times we have to turn a home down. Our dogs are often much traumatized, insecure and sometimes they have also been physically abused. They often need a lot of time spent on them so generally they are not suitable to be left long periods of time.

Many Tears adoption fees
We ask for a fee of £170 for our dogs and puppies at the centre and £180 for those in foster unless there is a special reason when we just ask for a donation.

Our adoption process
 1. All potential adoptees are interviewed and homes are vetted. We will discuss your circumstances and try to determine if our dog will be suitable for your home/family/lifestyle/other pets.
 2. All those who will live with the dog, as well as any dogs already owned, need to come and meet our dog.
 3. If eveyone gets along and seems happy with each other (both dogs and humans), then we can schedule a home visit. (A home visit is done to verify that the new home will be a safe and secure place for our dog to go to).
 4. If the home check passes, then you can come and adopt the dog. We do not ship dogs or let third parties collect them for you.
NOTE 1 - Because some people may have to travel large distances to meet and collect the dogs, we often can schedule a home vetting before you come, thus saving you a second trip.
NOTE 2 - We have people all across the country who home check for us. If you live in an area that is not covered by one of our home checkers, we can try to see if another rescue has contacts in your area that would be willing to do the homevetting for us.

If a dog is in foster care, the county where they are, a contact phone number and our foster dog adoption form will be under the dog's posting. All our other dogs are here at the rescue centre in Wales.

27-04-13 Moshi is a 2 year old husky. He was extremely loved, but his mum has had to go to hospital and can no longer have him. No friend or family member could have him either and she was terribly sad as she felt the only thing left was have him put to sleep. Of course we stepped in, and have been brought a happy friendly beautiful husky. He has met and greeted dogs and humans happily and we know is house trained good with children though can be boisterous. He has not met cats so at the moment we wouldn't home him with one. Moshi travel well in the car and as you see he is a lovely and stunning dog.

03-06-15 Toby is a 5-6 year old Tri Border Collie, who has sadly had to be returned to Many Tears, as he was no longer getting on with his owner’s resident Labrador bitch, and finding town life too hard to deal with. Toby is a very nervous collie, who is extremely sound sensitive. He hates anything that makes a noise like the hoover, lawn mower etc. He can deal with normal traffic, but doesn’t like anything bigger than a car, with a particular dread of dust carts.
So Toby’s ideal new home would be somewhere in a quiet location, he would love to be someone’s only pet so he can get the love and attention he deserves. He needs a collie experienced handler and is not suitable for a first time dog owner. He needs firm but fair handling, as he can be a tad stubborn when he wants to be! He is pretty much a one person dog, so sharing responsibility for his care between two people (ie while one is out at work) has not worked particularly well.
Toby does walk well on the lead when he is out, but feels more secure on lead as he will flee if he hears a sound he doesn’t like, and is fearful if a dog comes up to him. However, in the right environment he loves a good run along the beach, and always has a fantastic time on the beaches of Cornwall and Devon when he’s been there on holiday, and loves paddling in the surf. He is not particularly toy motivated, but will return a ball for a treat.
Toby is used to being crated, which helps calm him down if he is stressing out over noise, and can be left for a couple of hours a day. He enjoys a good belly rub as well! In the right environment, with the right owner, if Toby could see past his fears he will make a fantastic pet, as he really is a lovely boy. He was first abandoned on the Brecon Beacons, and has now lost the home he has had for the last few years, so his next home needs to be his final one and one that will make him happy.

28-05-13 Zoe is a beautiful collie who was rescued from a pound. We think she is about 2 years old. She would have been put to sleep as no one claimed or wanted her, but she had an angel watch over her. Christine (the angel) had her at home one day while trying to find a rescue space for her. She was and still is incredibly frightened and spent her time at Christine's home cuddled up as small as she could make herself on the bed. She was no trouble and although so frightened never growled or snapped. Once here we bathed and chipped her and although still very afraid she walked on a lead by our sides. This is a dear little collie who has suffered great worries in the last few weeks. She is a very frightened dog at the moment and would be happier in a home without children. At the moment she really is a very frightened girl. She needs someone very special to be there to love her and help her move forwards.

19-07-13 Allie is a 2½ year old ex-breeding Bichon. She is a nervous little dog who will bite through fear. She is large for a bichon and has hormonal alopecia at the moment which should improve in time. Little Allie is frightened at the moment but given time and patience she will come round, she just needs to go at her own pace. Allie will need a quiet, adult only home with understanding people who can give her the time she needs and help her feel secure. Allie will need a kind dog in her new home which will help her adjust more easily.

16-12-13 Laila is a 6 year old ex-breeding Shih Tzu. She is a darling girl who will need a calm and gentle home as she is insecure and worried at the moment. She doesn't yet know how to walk on a lead and she will need a kind dog in her new home to help her learn all about the world, living in a home and house training etc. Laila has some mammary lumps that our vet will look at and we will update about them when we can.

22-01-14 Rose is a 3 year old ex-breeding Shih tzu. She is quite friendly and outgoing. She is happy for us to pick her up and give her a fuss. She was very patient whilst we bathed and clipped her today, some dogs can find this a little difficult but Rose took it all in her stride, with a cheery disposition. She is a beginner on a lead and will need to learn all about housetraining and living in a home. She will leanr this best with a resident dog to copy and follow but in the right circumstances we could consider rehoming Rose as an only dog

27-01-14 Lainie is a 3 year old ex-breeding Sheltie. She has a gentle and calm nature but is scared of the big wide world. She doesn't yet know how to walk on a lead and is clearly not used to being around people. She is afraid of being handled as she has no idea what to expect. She will need a kind and confident dog in her new home for her to copy and learn from which in turn will raise her own confidence. Lainie will need owners who understand this girl needs time, patience and a lot of love to help her bloom and allow her personality to shine through.

04-02-14 Patch is a 2 year old male sprocker. Patch originall came to the center as his owner was working full time. Patch finds life very exciting and has unfortunately been brought back to Many Tears due to guarding his owners against each other. Patch has such a very strong working mentality and we hope we can find a home involving an active lifestyle such as agility or flyball, or maybe cani cross. His brain would then be put to the test and Patch would feel he had a job in life to work towards. Patch is such a happy lad, he would chase cats however I do feel this could be worked with in the correct hands. He is a very busy dog and is looking for an ACTIVE home. He is a delight, but not for the first time dog owner and we would not home him with children.

04-02-14 Troy is a 4 year old Shar-Pei who has been returned to us after two days in a home. We are told that he was laying down in the front room and he jumped up to growl at a child with no trigger. The family returned Troy immediately back to our care so he is now looking again for his forever home.
Troy had previously come in to Many Tears due to a relationship breakdown and were informed that he had happily lived alongside children. In light of recent events however, we will be looking for a home where any children are teenage upwards.
Troy is said to be house trained, has good basic manners and is very loving. He enjoys going for long walks and meets other dogs well. Here he is kennelled with a female dog and he is very good with her. He is looking for Shar Pei experienced owners who can give him the forever home he desperately needs.

08-02-14 Vera is a 3 year old ex-breeding Shih Tzu. She has sore skin at the moment which we will treat here with special shampoo and this will help her feel more comfortable. Vera has been very patient whilst we bathed her but she did find it all a little traumatic and was quite fearful. She also has sore eyes which our vet will look at. She is rather shell shocked at the moment but underneath the fear is a sweet girl who is at the start of her long journey to becoming a much loved pet. She will need regular medicated baths, a kind canine companion to show her the way and LOTS of time, patience and gentle words of encouragement. Most of all she needs love and patience to help her adjust.

12-02-14 If Only is a 7 year old ex-breeding Cavalier who really needs our help. She cannot see and so her world is dark and frightening at the moment. She has come to us to find a loving new home but she is very shy, which isn't help by the fact that she is blind. If only she could see our smiles, our hands stretching out to gently stroke her, if only she could see her warm bed and the bowl full of food waiting for her. If only she could see when she gets into a foster home to navigate her way round the furniture, if only she could see the green grass, the butterflies in the garden in this world which is so new to her. This is why we named her If Only. We will arrange for her to see an eye specialist who will test her eyes to see if our dreams for her - to be able to see - can become a reality. If her eyes are operable then we will do all we can for her. It will be costly, but to this little dog it will be invaluable. To help IF Only and other dogs like her please donate to our Gift of Sight fund.

12-02-14 Trust is a 5 year old ex-breeding Cavalier. She is one of three Cavaliers we have here who desperately need our help. Trust cannot see and needs to see our eye specialist. Trust is a sweet girl but as she is submerged in a dark world she doesn't understand she struggle to be able to trust. She relies on the dogs around her to guide her and having never been beyond the place she was used as a breeding girl she has never seen the world through the eyes of a much loved pet. She has not been able to see our kind hands that would like to stroke her head or seen the smiles of those that want to help her. She has never seen the birds that she can hear singing in the trees or seen the raindrops as they fall to the grass. To be able to learn about being a pet dog in a home with people, furniture etc the gift of sight would make her transition much less frghtening and open up a whole new world of happiness and hope. We will do everything we can for her and we hope that her eyes are operable to give her the vision she needs. It will come at a steep price and we are desperate for your help and support... this little dog needs us. To help Tust and other dogs like her please donate to our Gift of Sight fund.

13-02-13 Sharry is a 10 month old male Yorkie who has come to us from a breeder. Sharry is a nervous chap who isnt at all sure about being handled at the moment. He does not yet walk on a lead although we will be working on this. As with all scared dogs Sharry will need to be shown how the world works, with careful introduction to household items such as the washing machine and hoover. He will need a home with at least one other dog to help him adjust to this new life and who he can copy and learn about house training etc. He is looking for kind and compassionate owers who understand he will need time and patience to learn about being a pet dog.
