Many Tears Rescue is a rescue based in South Wales but we also have dogs in foster throughout the UK. We have many dogs that are waiting to find love. We rescue mainly ex-breeding dogs, but also help with some of the death row dogs from the pounds.

All adult dogs are spayed/neutered, micro chipped, inoculated, wormed and kennel cough vaccinated. All puppies are wormed, micro chipped, inoculated and KC vaccinated. A declaration will be signed at time of adoption requiring a new owner to spay or neuter a puppy.

We are looking for wonderful, responsible, forever homes. That means asking questions and trying to marry up the correct pet with the prospective new owner. We are not judgmental but we have a very large responsibility to make sure we do what's right for our dogs and you. We don't have regimental rules on what homes are suitable but there are times we have to turn a home down. Our dogs are often much traumatized, insecure and sometimes they have also been physically abused. They often need a lot of time spent on them so generally they are not suitable to be left long periods of time.

Many Tears adoption fees
The adoption fee for a dog/puppy is 200. You will find a break down of what this covers under our Adoption Procedures. If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

18-11-14 Enya (was called Fire) is a 5 year old terrier cross who is back in foster with us. Over a year ago Enya was involved in a traffic accident, against the odds she survived, but was left incontinent and with restricted mobility. Thanks to a number of very special people who have funded her hydrotherapy and provided extensive massage, she is now just like any other dog, loves her long walks and revels in playing.
.....Sadly, Enya remains incontinent, we are unsure if this will ever improve, but I remain hopeful. Her incontinence is easily managed. During the day when she is in the home she wears washable diapers which she happily lets you put on and makes no attempt to take off. At night she sleeps in a crate on vetbed (a fleece which absorbs fluids) this is easily rinsed through.
.....Enya has walked back into our home and is living very happily and amicably with our four large breed dogs. It is a delight to see her playing with our youngest goldie and collie x and hilarious to see her chasing around the legs of the two older goldies who are unable to keep track of her movements and have a very puzzled look on their faces.
.....Enya is a gorgeous, most affectionate little girl, BUT she is a terrier and has very strong terrier traits. We are looking for a very special home for Enya where she will be spoilt and cherished by her humans, preferably as an only dog but certainly not with small breed dogs.
.....Enya walks lovely on the lead, is happy to be left for reasonable periods and sleeps all night. She is a little ‘lovebug’ and is looking for her very own special person, could that be you?

10-10-2014 Edore is a 7 year old ex-breeding Schnauzer cross girl. This nervous girl is unsure of new situations however although reserved she is quite happy once she had settled. Edore does not yet walk on the lead or know any of the doggie skills she needs like house training. She will need another calm dog to guide her on her journey to being a family dog and owners who will absolutely understand the need for time and patience and who are prepared to give her the time she needs to adjust to this new world she has found herself in. Edore has bad skin that we are already treating.

28-12-14 Debby is a very thin sad and rather frightened 5 year old ex-breeding shih tzu. She is quite small and would not eat as she was so scared until I stepped away. However as the day has worn on with many visits and kind words she will now look at me. She has rather sore eyes and one is not producing tears, so we are giving her medication to try to induce tears, however she may need eye lubricant all her life so this is something her new owners will need to consider. She clearly has had a rough time and we are hoping there is some one with a big heart and another small kind dog who will want to help her learn to be happy, and learn to enjoy a humans love. She does not walk on a lead and will need house training but most of all she will need owners who have the time and patience to help her.

11/01/15- Sadly, Polly has been returned to us today due to her being unpredictable. Polly has come back to us because she has been said to lunge at men and children. Polly will now need a forever home with no children due to her being unpredictable. We are looking for a very very experienced home for Polly so if you're an experience owner who is looking for a challenge and a chance too give a dog a life, please put an application form in and give her forever home. Please do not put an application form if you are not capable of this. Some will say that Polly needs to be put to sleep because of her unpredictability but we are not giving up with Polly, we will be having a meeting to discuss a way forward for Polly. She will now be muzzled when out walking to avoid any accidents.

17-03-15 Morris is a 3 year old ex-stud Shih Tzu. We believe this darling lad has very limited, if any eyesight. He relies on his hearing to understand the world around him and as you can imagine this makes changes seem quite scary to him. He is confused and lost at the moment - we hope a kind person will not mind that his eyes are not great and want to help him to help the beautiful dog that is too afraid to show himself emerge and bloom. Morris follows other dogs and will need a kind little dog to be his guide and confidante in his new home. Morris will need a little extra time and patience when learning about house training with someone who is experienced with either frightened or blind dogs. Small kids would be too scary for him at the moment. Morris is a very special little boy - can you open your arms and your heart to him?

02-05-15 Daisy is a 6 year old ex breeding shih tzu. She has a condition called dry eye which means she needs eye drops given daily. We hope this condition will improve but if not she could need lubrication for the eyes for life so this is something any new adopter needs to bear in mind. She has had a tough life and now needs a kind person who already has their own kind dogs or dog to take her into their homes and love her. Daisy will need to learn all about house training and lead walking but she is really going to be a special girl who will be well worth the effort you put in.

04-05-15 Eva is a 3 year old ex-breeding Jack Russell Terrier. She is a sweet girl who loves attention and cuddles and wants to be with other dogs especially her friend Elizabeth. Eva would love a home where there was another dog in the home who could be her friend and who will help her to learn all her doggie lessons. In the right circumstances we would consider homing Elizabeth and Eva together without another dog in the home as long as their new owner understand that house training and lead walking may take extra time.

14-04-15 Baily is a 4 year old collie girl who has sadly been returned to her foster home. Her new adopter was unable to manage her issues within the house but dear Baily's positives far out way her negatives.
.....She is a sweet and obedient little girl with a superb recall. She is fantastic with the cats, sheep, horses, chickens and geese. It has taken some time, but now she is confident with us she is very very affectionate. She is sharing her home with 6 other dogs and has been great with them. We have fostered lots of puppies and she has been fabulous with all of them, to the point of being their mum!
.....She has been out to watch agility classes and greeted other dogs and people beautifully. She can be 'noise sensitive' and some new situations can make her nervous. She is a collie, these peculiarities are not unusual in the breed. She continues to be wary of visitors to the home. It is not so much when they arrive as when they get up to go, she switches into defensive mode. She is so much better than when she first arrived, we are now used to it and find it easy to deal with. Her new owner will need to allow lots of TIME , have plenty of patience, and be prepared to be very firm with the 'rules', both for Baily and visitors.
.....Baily needs a quiet home without too many people through the door. She is such a sweet girl and desperately needs someone to give her a chance to be the wonderful companion dog that she wants to be. She is not suitable for a first time dog owner or a family with children. We are more than happy to work with and give plenty of help and advice to her new owners, we just want to see Baily happy and settled in her forever home, this lovely little dog really is worth the work.

26-05-2015 Lulu is a 7 year old ex breeding Yorkie girl, a sweet girl who is amazing and gets on well with all the other dogs. Lulu will need to have another dog in the home to help settle her in and to help teach her all about lead walking and house training. With some time and patience she will thrive.

22-05-15 Eve is a truly lovely 7 year old ex-breeding Bichon. She has been returned to her foster home because she didn't settle in her new home as the resident dog did not want to to cuddle up and share their bed with her. When she first arrived at Many Tears she had cataracts but The Gift of Sight transformed her world and her her cheeky funny character now shines through, she follows me around the home like a shadow and just a gentle word results in a blur of tail wagging. She is currently on eye drops once a day and needs to go back to the Rowe Vets in Bristol every 6 months although this should change to once a year later on.
.....Eve really enjoys the company of other bichons and will need a home with one (or more) who will allow her to cuddle up with them. She also loves the humans in her life - she follows me around the house especially if i go and have a bath - she'll be sat there on the bathroom floor!
.....Eve is toilet trained but may regress a lttle when she first moves to her new home but with gentle reassurance and another dog to copy it shouldn't take her long to fully get there. She eats nicely, walks beautifully on a lead (with harness) and good recall although sometimes has a cheeky side to her. She can be left for a few hours with the company of other dogs and is non destructive and very happy to see me on my return.
.....Eve is just a wonderful and loving little dog and whoever adopts her is going to be so lucky. With just a little time and patience she will love you from the bottom of her heart and truly be a faithful friend.

8-6-15 This handsome 4 year old ex-stud yorkie is called Mitch! What a cool little man Mitch is. He already walks well on the lead but may need house training. Mitch meets other dogs well and could happily share his home with others. Mitch is confident enough to be an only boy in the right circumstances but his new owners will need to understand that without another dog it may take him longer to understand the rules of living in a house. Please read our information on ex-breeding dogs and fill in an application form.

8-6-15 This pretty 5 year old ex-breeding bichon girl is called Lomasi. Lomasi is nervous at the moment and will back away when you approach her in her kennel. Lomasi needs lots of TLC and given plenty of time and patience she will start to show her true colours! She doesn't know how to walk on a lead and will need a confident resident dog in her new home to help her adjust to life as a pet and help her to learn about house training etc. At 5 years old she has probably never heard a washing machine or a hoover and will likely find them frightening. Please read our information on ex-breeders and fill in an adoption form if you are committed to rehabilitating Lomasi.
