Many Tears Rescue is a rescue based in South Wales but we also have dogs in foster throughout the UK. We have many dogs that are waiting to find love. We rescue mainly ex-breeding dogs, but also help with some of the death row dogs from the pounds.

All adult dogs are spayed/neutered, micro chipped, inoculated, wormed and kennel cough vaccinated. All puppies are wormed, micro chipped, inoculated and KC vaccinated. A declaration will be signed at time of adoption requiring a new owner to spay or neuter a puppy.

We are looking for wonderful, responsible, forever homes. That means asking questions and trying to marry up the correct pet with the prospective new owner. We are not judgmental but we have a very large responsibility to make sure we do what's right for our dogs and you. We don't have regimental rules on what homes are suitable but there are times we have to turn a home down. Our dogs are often much traumatized, insecure and sometimes they have also been physically abused. They often need a lot of time spent on them so generally they are not suitable to be left long periods of time.

Many Tears adoption fees
We ask for a fee of 170 for our dogs and puppies at the centre and 180 for those in foster unless there is a special reason when we just ask for a donation.

Our adoption process
 1. All potential adoptees are interviewed and homes are vetted. We will discuss your circumstances and try to determine if our dog will be suitable for your home/family/lifestyle/other pets.
 2. All those who will live with the dog, as well as any dogs already owned, need to come and meet our dog.
 3. If eveyone gets along and seems happy with each other (both dogs and humans), then we can schedule a home visit. (A home visit is done to verify that the new home will be a safe and secure place for our dog to go to).
 4. If the home check passes, then you can come and adopt the dog. We do not ship dogs or let third parties collect them for you.
NOTE 1 - Because some people may have to travel large distances to meet and collect the dogs, we often can schedule a home vetting before you come, thus saving you a second trip.
NOTE 2 - We have people all across the country who home check for us. If you live in an area that is not covered by one of our home checkers, we can try to see if another rescue has contacts in your area that would be willing to do the homevetting for us.

If a dog is in foster care, the county where they are, a contact phone number and our foster dog adoption form will be under the dog's posting. All our other dogs are here at the rescue centre in Wales.

03-06-14 Toby is a 5-6 year old Tri Border Collie, who has sadly had to be returned to Many Tears, as he was no longer getting on with his owner’s resident Labrador bitch, and finding town life too hard to deal with. Toby is a very nervous collie, who is extremely sound sensitive. He hates anything that makes a noise like the hoover, lawn mower etc. He can deal with normal traffic, but doesn’t like anything bigger than a car, with a particular dread of dust carts.
So Toby’s ideal new home would be somewhere in a quiet location, he would love to be someone’s only pet so he can get the love and attention he deserves. He needs a collie experienced handler and is not suitable for a first time dog owner. He needs firm but fair handling, as he can be a tad stubborn when he wants to be! He is pretty much a one person dog, so sharing responsibility for his care between two people (ie while one is out at work) has not worked particularly well.
Toby does walk well on the lead when he is out, but feels more secure on lead as he will flee if he hears a sound he doesn’t like, and is fearful if a dog comes up to him. However, in the right environment he loves a good run along the beach, and always has a fantastic time on the beaches of Cornwall and Devon when he’s been there on holiday, and loves paddling in the surf. He is not particularly toy motivated, but will return a ball for a treat.
Toby is used to being crated, which helps calm him down if he is stressing out over noise, and can be left for a couple of hours a day. He enjoys a good belly rub as well! In the right environment, with the right owner, if Toby could see past his fears he will make a fantastic pet, as he really is a lovely boy. He was first abandoned on the Brecon Beacons, and has now lost the home he has had for the last few years, so his next home needs to be his final one and one that will make him happy.

19-07-13 Allie is a 2 year old ex-breeding Bichon. She is a nervous little dog who will bite through fear. She is large for a bichon and has hormonal alopecia at the moment which should improve in time. Little Allie is frightened at the moment but given time and patience she will come round, she just needs to go at her own pace. Allie will need a quiet, adult only home with understanding people who can give her the time she needs and help her feel secure. Allie will need a kind dog in her new home which will help her adjust more easily.

16-12-13 Laila is a 6 year old ex-breeding Shih Tzu. She is a darling girl who will need a calm and gentle home as she is insecure and worried at the moment. She doesn't yet know how to walk on a lead and she will need a kind dog in her new home to help her learn all about the world, living in a home and house training etc. Laila has some mammary lumps that our vet will look at and we will update about them when we can.

08-04-14 Bowie is a 2 year old collie cross (unsure with what) she is the right length for a collie but half the height. Bowie is being returned after nearly 3 months and the write up below is from her adopter who will be fostering Bowie until a new home is found.

Bowie is a medium energy/agility girl. She was originally found sleeping on the doorstep of a council house where the tenants had been evicted and left her behind. Bowie has a spectrum of needs she requires a special type of home and management.
She is highly intelligent and in three months she is house, crate and clicker trained. Follows around 10 trying commands and some impulse commands. (Sit, Stay, Wait, Paw, lay down, up, off, on the mat, in the crate, touch, speak, quiet, watch, fetch, drop, leave). We're still working on her recall. She has learnt to ring a wind chime to go out and show herself at the window to come in to save barking. You can leave her for periods of time during the day and she has not a destructive bone in her body. She'll just chill or play with her toys.
She plays games and loves the tornado, fetch and hide and seek. She is loving and loyal and very playful. She will also come with her toys. If supervised can play and be around children 11+ as long as they understand her triggers and her signs showing worry.
Walks well on a harness she is currently learning to walk with a muzzle as she has difficulty with skateboarders and children on scooters. She is distracted easily with squirrels, cats and pigeons/sea gulls (not small wild birds). She will patiently let you put her harness/lead on and she will let you wipe her paws if its been raining.
She is microchipped, had her vaccinations, spayed, flead and wormed regularly. She is happy to be washed, groomed and loves a towel dry. She could be suited to agility or fly ball (loves a tennis ball). Bowie travels well in a car and has been out to a number of places in the front of my partners van (loves the view).
Unfortunately she has some challenges which can be managed if given the right environment with an experienced dog carer who can be firm but trustworthy. A behavourist gave me some advice and this is working well with what I can offer but she does need more rural environment she can hopefully progress further.
Bowie would benefit from being in an adult only home. With no cats and other dogs. She is sociable when she is out with dogs except smaller varieties she's fine with medium/big dogs. She creates strong bonds with carers but visitors need to earn her trust. She is nervous of men but has now built up a good relationship with my partner and visitors (after careful introduction).
She needs to live in the countryside and have plenty of space and with someone who she can make a strong bond. She will excitedly greet you in the morning from her crate and when you return home. These opportunities are when you can make a real fuss of her. She will even bring you her favourite toy to play with when she trusts you; as soon as you're through the door. She is not a lap dog (although mini break through she has tried to get on my lap twice! Both for short periods but was very sweet). She does not like masses of cuddles and strokes so when she does allow them it is all the more special.
Bowie enjoys being worked and she needs to come to you for interaction whether its play or a bit of a fuss (this is daily). She needs a certain routine to go to bed around 9pm as when she is tired her lesser wanted traits appear. She will make someone a very proud owner she really worth the slightly extra work involved. She's looking to be someone's shadow to stand by their side.

11-04-14 Dior is a 5 year old exbreeding bichon. She is a beautiful little dot who loves the company of other dogs. She has some hormonal alopaecia so has come bald patches on her which should improve once she is spayed. When we took her out yesterday she did her very best to walk on a lead but it is clearly a new skill that needs a little practise. If she has a kind and relaxed dog to follow she will soon understand better and will enjoy trotting off for walks with her new family. Dior will need to learn all about housetraining and becoming a pet dog. She has already decided that she enjoys cuddles very much and would like lots of them in her new home please!

15-04-2014 Larue is a 6 year old ex-breeding Bichon. Laurue is a sweet but nervous girl and is not sure around men, new environments or noises. She is much happier in the company of other dogs and will need a home with at least one other dog to be her friend and guide. Larue does not yet walk on a lead and is not house trained but with time and patience will soon pick this up. Larue will need a special owner who will give her the love and understanding she needs and another kind dog who will help her understand the ways of the world.

27-05-2014 Georgie is a 2 year old Terrier cross who has come back to us after being adopted as a puppy. Georgie has always been very anxious, and doesn't like new people coming and going and when out she finds busy places too much as well. The family are heart broken at giving her up, but their circumstances have changed and they now take in exchange students, which Georgie really finds hard to deal with. They feel she would be happier in a more calm and quite home. Georgie can't go with cats but gets on fine with other dogs and would probabaly be best homed with a calm canine companion. She has bitten through anxiety/fear in the past and so does need an experienced and child free home. This includes teenagers as she can't cope with friends/people keep coming round. She walks on a lead, is toilet trained. She loves water and going to the beach.

05-06-14 Dixie is a 4 year old female Collie. Dixie has broken all our hearts today as she is so shut down and scared. Dixie came from a farm and has spent no time with people at all. She knows nothing of the world, cannot walk on a lead and is terrified of new noises or situations. Dixie needs a special and experienced person, with a resident calm, kind dog to help her overcome her fears. This person needs to be patient, experienced with collies and willing to take time out to work through Dixie's socialisation issues. We need someone ultra special who understands exactly what a dog like Dixie needs. She is desperate to be loved by a special person - is this you? We would also need a home with very secure garden.

06-07-14 Ruger is a 9 month old whippet cross. She has had a TERRIBLE start to her life, and so nearly ended up dead. A few weeks previously she was stolen and the person who stole her was part of a dog fighting ring. The dog was found and returned to the owner who also had her sister, but now the dogs reaction to other dogs was of such great fear which came out in a banshee scream, that they did not want her or her sister. Greyhound rescue took one and we took her. Ruger is SUPER clever and literally took minutes to teach her to walk gazing up at me whilst passing other dogs. She is also SUPER fast. We think shes a whippet collie as her brain is clearly very well developed. Although a very clever dog, I can imagine her to be a dog that needs a really good trainer. Like all great dogs she has that some thing special about her. If you are agility mad and a good trainer this could be a top dog in the right hands.
I called her Ruger as this is a type of gun, and I felt her steel grey colour was like that of a gun barrel.
She is not a dog for the faint hearted as she is fast a quick thinker and loyal as hell, she does not need any more let downs in her poor sad life.

10-07-2014 Nudge is an 18 month ex-stud Husky, he is a confident and handsome boy who walks well on the lead but could do with some more practice. Nudge loves a fuss and tummy rubs. Nudge would love a home where he will get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. We are looking for a Husky savvy home or a home where extensive research has been made into the breed. In the right homes a Huskie is a majestic, stunning, well adjusted and happy dog you can be proud of, but without the right stimuli a Husky can be a very sad dog indeed. For this reason, we are looking for the right homes for our Huskies and will rehome them as donation only.

10-07-2014 Neishka is a 3 year old ex-breeding husky. We are all heads over heels with this STUNNING girl!! Neishka is a little timid at present but is happy to be handled and cuddled. She will give you loving kisses when you kneel down and fuss her. Neishka is a begginer on the lead and will need more training which will help her to keep her mind agile. Neishka will need lots of exercise and will be homed to a family who are Husky savvy or have extensivly researched the breed. Neishka is just beautiful and will go so far in the right hands. She is by donation only simply to try and ensure that we find her the absolute right home where she will shine.

18-7-2014 Jemima is a female, four year old, exbreeding Bichon. Although she is quite nervous at the moment she is a very lovely little dog. As an exbreeder who has much to learn she will need another dog in her new home who can teach her the skills involved in walking on a lead, or what is involved in house training. Most of all Jemima would like to learn what it is to be loved and to be someone's princess.

18-7-2014 Jamila is a six year old, ex-breeding, female Yorkshire Terrier. She is very quiet and a bit shut down, although also very patient with being handled and checked. Jamila appears to be blind in her right eye and have a cataract in her left eye. Our vet will be examining her. Jamila will need another dog in her new home who can help her learn life skills (such as house training and lead walking) despite her blindness. Jamila would like lots of love and care. Jamila will see an eye specialist who wil determine if she can be helped. If she is eligible for surgery we will do out very best to fundraise for her and raise the money to give her the priceless gift of sight. Please help us in our plight to help Jamilia.
