Many Tears Rescue is a rescue based in South Wales but we also have dogs in foster throughout the UK. We have many dogs that are waiting to find love. We rescue mainly ex-breeding dogs, but also help with some of the death row dogs from the pounds.

All adult dogs are spayed/neutered, micro chipped, inoculated, wormed and kennel cough vaccinated. All puppies are wormed, micro chipped, inoculated and KC vaccinated. A declaration will be signed at time of adoption requiring a new owner to spay or neuter a puppy.

We are looking for wonderful, responsible, forever homes. That means asking questions and trying to marry up the correct pet with the prospective new owner. We are not judgmental but we have a very large responsibility to make sure we do what's right for our dogs and you. We don't have regimental rules on what homes are suitable but there are times we have to turn a home down. Our dogs are often much traumatized, insecure and sometimes they have also been physically abused. They often need a lot of time spent on them so generally they are not suitable to be left long periods of time.

Many Tears adoption fees
The adoption fee for a dog/puppy is 200. You will find a break down of what this covers under our Adoption Procedures. If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

03-06-14 Toby is a 5-6 year old Tri Border Collie, who has sadly had to be returned to Many Tears, as he was no longer getting on with his owner’s resident Labrador bitch, and finding town life too hard to deal with. Toby is a very nervous collie, who is extremely sound sensitive. He hates anything that makes a noise like the hoover, lawn mower etc. He can deal with normal traffic, but doesn’t like anything bigger than a car, with a particular dread of dust carts.
So Toby’s ideal new home would be somewhere in a quiet location, he would love to be someone’s only pet so he can get the love and attention he deserves. He needs a collie experienced handler and is not suitable for a first time dog owner. He needs firm but fair handling, as he can be a tad stubborn when he wants to be! He is pretty much a one person dog, so sharing responsibility for his care between two people (ie while one is out at work) has not worked particularly well.
Toby does walk well on the lead when he is out, but feels more secure on lead as he will flee if he hears a sound he doesn’t like, and is fearful if a dog comes up to him. However, in the right environment he loves a good run along the beach, and always has a fantastic time on the beaches of Cornwall and Devon when he’s been there on holiday, and loves paddling in the surf. He is not particularly toy motivated, but will return a ball for a treat.
Toby is used to being crated, which helps calm him down if he is stressing out over noise, and can be left for a couple of hours a day. He enjoys a good belly rub as well! In the right environment, with the right owner, if Toby could see past his fears he will make a fantastic pet, as he really is a lovely boy. He was first abandoned on the Brecon Beacons, and has now lost the home he has had for the last few years, so his next home needs to be his final one and one that will make him happy.

10-07-2014 Nimble is a 7 year old ex-breeding Bichon. Nimble is such a pretty girl who although shy came and gave us a sniff in the kennel. She really lacks confidence. In time her confidence will grow and maybe even enough to be an only dog but at present she will need another friendly dog to help her settle into family life. She has some hormonal alopaecia which should settle once she has been spayed Nimble is a begginner on the lead, is new to skills of living in a home and will soon learn that walking is fun, she is a lovely girl who is enjoying being with the other dogs and will be even happier when she moves in with you.

23-10-14 Cara is an 8 year old exbreeding Bichon. She is a delightful little girl who really is in need of someone very special. She has never left her breeder and has the start of cataracts. She may never have lived in a home and will need a kind canine companion in her new home that will allow her to snuggle up with her and be her guide. She will need to learn all about housetraining and how to walk on a lead, but most of all she will need to adjust to life as a loved member of the family.

23-10-14 Cloud is a 3 year old exbreeding bichon. She is a spcial girl but she is a lost soul. Both of her eyes have limited, if any sight at all. She doesn't yet know anything about love or being handled and has probably never left her breeders. This girl is so special and we will do all it takes to help her relax, learn all about kindness and comfort. She will need a kind dog to snuggle with in her new home and a very special person to gently lift her spirit and help her blossom.

29-10-14 Lizzie is a 6 year old ex-breeding Yorkie. She is a sweet, very loving and affectionate little girl who eats very well and sleeps all night on the sofa. She walks beautifully on a lead she is good with all my dogs and meets dogs on a walk with no reaction.
.....Lizzie is Diabetic. She is on injected insulin twice a day and makes no fuss and waits patiently for her treat afterwards. Lizzie drinks a lot and to be clean indoors needs constant access to the garden or to be let out regularly. Her diet needs to be monitored but is the same as my dogs - royal canin and Natures Diet. She will need a yearly blood test to ensure that her diabetes is under control and to if necessary adjust her insulin levels. Insulin & needles can be ordered from the centre vet at cost price.
Lizzie loves nothing more than to snuggle up on your lap and loves people. She could maybe go as an only dog is you were home all day although she would happily live with a similar sized dog. Is there anyone out there who will give Lizzie a chance?

18-11-14 Enya (was called Fire) is a 5 year old terrier cross who is back in foster with us. Over a year ago Enya was involved in a traffic accident, against the odds she survived, but was left incontinent and with restricted mobility. Thanks to a number of very special people who have funded her hydrotherapy and provided extensive massage, she is now just like any other dog, loves her long walks and revels in playing.
.....Sadly, Enya remains incontinent, we are unsure if this will ever improve, but I remain hopeful. Her incontinence is easily managed. During the day when she is in the home she wears washable diapers which she happily lets you put on and makes no attempt to take off. At night she sleeps in a crate on vetbed (a fleece which absorbs fluids) this is easily rinsed through.
.....Enya has walked back into our home and is living very happily and amicably with our four large breed dogs. It is a delight to see her playing with our youngest goldie and collie x and hilarious to see her chasing around the legs of the two older goldies who are unable to keep track of her movements and have a very puzzled look on their faces.
.....Enya is a gorgeous, most affectionate little girl, BUT she is a terrier and has very strong terrier traits. We are looking for a very special home for Enya where she will be spoilt and cherished by her humans, preferably as an only dog but certainly not with small breed dogs.
.....Enya walks lovely on the lead, is happy to be left for reasonable periods and sleeps all night. She is a little ‘lovebug’ and is looking for her very own special person, could that be you?

10-10-2014 Edore is a 7 year old ex-breeding Schnauzer cross girl. This nervous girl is unsure of new situations however although reserved she is quite happy once she had settled. Edore does not yet walk on the lead or know any of the doggie skills she needs like house training. She will need another calm dog to guide her on her journey to being a family dog and owners who will absolutely understand the need for time and patience and who are prepared to give her the time she needs to adjust to this new world she has found herself in. Edore has bad skin that we are already treating.

11-12-14 Angel is an 8 year old ex-breeding Bichon. She is a friendly little dog who is kind and gentle. She has a waggy tail and is keen to say hello to everybody she meets despite the fact that she has cataracts in her eyes and has very limited, if any, sight. She doesn't let this get her down and is a really sweet and loving girl who deserves a wonderful home with someone who can return all her love and give her the warm cosy bed and cuddles she has only ever dreamed of. She has a little mammary lump and a hernia which our vet will look at when she is spayed.

11-12-14 This 18 month old westie is called Ribena. She has come to us unwanted from a breeder. Ribena is a little shut down at present but she will allow you to handle her and will seek comfort in your arms once she relaxes. She doesn't walk on a lead and will need house training so a confident resident dog already in the home is needed to enable her to learn these skills. Her new family will need to be willing to take things slow and steady; it can take some time for ex-breeders to come around and the key is love and patience. Can you help this girl realize what the real world for a pet dog is like?

28-12-14 Debby is a very thin sad and rather frightened 5 year old ex-breeding shih tzu. She is quite small and would not eat as she was so scared until I stepped away. However as the day has worn on with many visits and kind words she will now look at me. She has rather sore eyes and one is not producing tears, so we are giving her medication to try to induce tears, however she may need eye lubricant all her life so this is something her new owners will need to consider. She clearly has had a rough time and we are hoping there is some one with a big heart and another small kind dog who will want to help her learn to be happy, and learn to enjoy a humans love. She does not walk on a lead and will need house training but most of all she will need owners who have the time and patience to help her.

30-01-2015 Bolt is a 4 month old Collie X Whippet boy who has come to us from a breeder, Bolt is as fast as or faster than his namesake Hussein Bolt. Bolt is a lovely boy who has had little or no socialisation and will need puppy training classes and be neutered at the age of 6 months. As Bolt has never lived in a home and is only used to canine company we are looking for a home with at least one other dog and who will consider agility training for Bolt as he has so much potential in this area. Bolt does not yet walk on the lead and will need house training but with his Collie intelligence he will soon learn. This super boy needs a super family.

Linx will need lots of socialising and will also need to learn how to walk on the lead and help with house training.

11/01/15- Sadly, Polly has been returned to us today due to her being unpredictable. Polly has come back to us because she has been said to lunge at men and children. Polly will now need a forever home with no children due to her being unpredictable. We are looking for a very very experienced home for Polly so if you're an experience owner who is looking for a challenge and a chance too give a dog a life, please put an application form in and give her forever home. Please do not put an application form if you are not capable of this. Some will say that Polly needs to be put to sleep because of her unpredictability but we are not giving up with Polly, we will be having a meeting to discuss a way forward for Polly. She will now be muzzled when out walking to avoid any accidents.
