Many Tears Rescue is a rescue based in South Wales but we also have dogs in foster throughout the UK. We have many dogs that are waiting to find love. We rescue mainly ex-breeding dogs, but also help with some of the death row dogs from the pounds.

All adult dogs are spayed/neutered, micro chipped, inoculated, wormed and kennel cough vaccinated. All puppies are wormed, micro chipped, inoculated and KC vaccinated. A declaration will be signed at time of adoption requiring a new owner to spay or neuter a puppy.

We are looking for wonderful, responsible, forever homes. That means asking questions and trying to marry up the correct pet with the prospective new owner. We are not judgmental but we have a very large responsibility to make sure we do what's right for our dogs and you. We don't have regimental rules on what homes are suitable but there are times we have to turn a home down. Our dogs are often much traumatized, insecure and sometimes they have also been physically abused. They often need a lot of time spent on them so generally they are not suitable to be left long periods of time.

Many Tears adoption fees
The adoption fee for a dog/puppy is £200. You will find a break down of what this covers under our Adoption Procedures. If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

18-11-14 Enya (was called Fire) is a 5 year old terrier cross who is back in foster with us. Over a year ago Enya was involved in a traffic accident, against the odds she survived, but was left incontinent and with restricted mobility. Thanks to a number of very special people who have funded her hydrotherapy and provided extensive massage, she is now just like any other dog, loves her long walks and revels in playing.
.....Sadly, Enya remains incontinent, we are unsure if this will ever improve, but I remain hopeful. Her incontinence is easily managed. During the day when she is in the home she wears washable diapers which she happily lets you put on and makes no attempt to take off. At night she sleeps in a crate on vetbed (a fleece which absorbs fluids) this is easily rinsed through.
.....Enya has walked back into our home and is living very happily and amicably with our four large breed dogs. It is a delight to see her playing with our youngest goldie and collie x and hilarious to see her chasing around the legs of the two older goldies who are unable to keep track of her movements and have a very puzzled look on their faces.
.....Enya is a gorgeous, most affectionate little girl, BUT she is a terrier and has very strong terrier traits. We are looking for a very special home for Enya where she will be spoilt and cherished by her humans, preferably as an only dog but certainly not with small breed dogs.
.....Enya walks lovely on the lead, is happy to be left for reasonable periods and sleeps all night. She is a little ‘lovebug’ and is looking for her very own special person, could that be you?

11/01/15- Sadly, Polly has been returned to us today due to her being unpredictable. Polly has come back to us because she has been said to lunge at men and children. Polly will now need a forever home with no children due to her being unpredictable. We are looking for a very very experienced home for Polly so if you're an experience owner who is looking for a challenge and a chance too give a dog a life, please put an application form in and give her forever home. Please do not put an application form if you are not capable of this. Some will say that Polly needs to be put to sleep because of her unpredictability but we are not giving up with Polly, we will be having a meeting to discuss a way forward for Polly. She will now be muzzled when out walking to avoid any accidents.

17-03-15 Morris is a 3 year old ex-stud Shih Tzu. We believe this darling lad has very limited, if any eyesight. He relies on his hearing to understand the world around him and as you can imagine this makes changes seem quite scary to him. He is confused and lost at the moment - we hope a kind person will not mind that his eyes are not great and want to help him to help the beautiful dog that is too afraid to show himself emerge and bloom. Morris follows other dogs and will need a kind little dog to be his guide and confidante in his new home. Morris will need a little extra time and patience when learning about house training with someone who is experienced with either frightened or blind dogs. Small kids would be too scary for him at the moment. Morris is a very special little boy - can you open your arms and your heart to him?

8-6-15 This pretty 5 year old ex-breeding bichon girl is called Lomasi. Lomasi is nervous at the moment and will back away when you approach her in her kennel. Lomasi needs lots of TLC and given plenty of time and patience she will start to show her true colours! She doesn't know how to walk on a lead and will need a confident resident dog in her new home to help her adjust to life as a pet and help her to learn about house training etc. At 5 years old she has probably never heard a washing machine or a hoover and will likely find them frightening. Please read our information on ex-breeders and fill in an adoption form if you are committed to rehabilitating Lomasi.

02-07-15 Maisie is an 8 month old terrier cross who has reluctantly been returned by her family because she started to show signs of fear aggression and even though they sought professional help, they felt unable to cope.
.....Maisie is a very happy, friendly little girl. She has bags of character and is very funny and mischievous. She is very good with other dogs and could play all day long if she has a partner in crime to match her energy. Maisie is house trained (finally) but still occasionally asks to go out in the night. She is good on and off the lead and travels well in the car.
.....Maisie's big problem is that she is very wary of strangers approaching her particularly indoors, but if she is allowed to make her own introductions in her own time she is fine and is steadily increasing her circle of friends.
.....Maisie would be happiest with a single person or a couple and must have at least one friendly, playful doggy companion to learn from. She really is the sweetest girl with a heart full of love.

13-08-15 December is a 7 year old ex-breeding bichon. This poor girl has had a hard life and although she is nervous once she knows and trusts you she does enjoy a cuddle. We have had to shave her coat to remove matts but this will soon grow back and she will be beautiful. December does not walk on a lead and will need to learn about house training. She will need a home with at least one other dog to show her how the way. She will never have seen a washing line blowing in the wind, a TV or heard a telephone rings so lots of things might be scary in the first few weeks of settling but a nice dog in the home who knows all about this pampared pet life will help her understand. December just needs someone to give her the time and stability she needs, if you feel this could be with you please read our ex-breeding information and fill in an adoption form for December.

13-08-15 Cloud is a 2 year old westie who has come to us from a breeder. She is overwhelmed by her new surroundings as she has never left the place she was born. She gazes up at the sky she has never seen before and loves to feel the sun. She is nervous of people and will need a home with another dog or dogs to show her there is no need cower when touched. She gets very tense when picked up so we are looking for a home where any children are older and understand Cloud will need a lot of time to settle before she will accept cuddles. She has sore skin at the moment which we are treating here. Cloud will need to learn all about lead walking and house training but if you have the time and patience to help Cloud you will be repaid ten times over.

19-05-15 Kettle is a female collie cross. These three dogs are our very special additions. Ringcrub, Tewtie & Kettle were 3 of 15 dogs who were given up to be destroyed by their owner who had to be taken into care. A rescue stepped in and saved 3 life's and asked other rescues to help too, unfortunately no one did. We were unaware of this situation but as soon as we heard we offered to help the 3 who had been saved. This week we welcomed the trio into our care, they are all elderly and are going to need some very special homes. Estimating their ages and knowing their needs is so hard when their expressions are so blank. The three are all so lost and have very little life in them however I see very small glimpse’s of hope.
Kettle seems a bit younger than both and I would guess anything between 5 and 8 so have aged her 6. Non of the dogs were micro-chipped before coming to us therefore we will never know their exact ages.
The trio are frozen at the moment, I guess you could say lost for words? That’s how I felt when I met them too. Our staff are being kind, we are nurturing them and they are starting to come round. We believe they are all smooth collie’s they are all massively over weight, today we are castrating Ringcrub he weighs 40kg. The two girls are already spayed thankfully as we would worry about anaesthetic with dogs which as so over weight. The dogs are looking for their forever homes, in the right circumstances we would split them up into homes individually but these dogs are used to being cuddled and having the touch of other dogs, they feel very overwhelmed with new situations and need the guidance and company of other dogs. None walk on leads, and with their size and weight in consideration they will need to be taught how to with the use of a harness and lots of TLC.
If you are local to us, please stop by and comfort them, talk to them and assure them. Today they all took food from our hand and are eating and drinking well. The journey they have already been on is massive please only apply if you can guarantee their forever home.

25-08-15 Please take the time to read about this boy, even if he's not the type of dog you are looking for. Thank you.

Storm is just a baby, and came from a family whose idea of bringing up a puppy was to shout and smack it when it did anything wrong. When the male owner left, a male neighbour was asked to come in and discipline Storm which resulted in him becoming fearful of people coming into the house, so he would bark aggressively at them. He was shut in a crate from 4 months old and was not being walked, so wasn't socialised with other dogs. His owner then decided to have him put to sleep.
A lovely lady that helped dogs find rescues places found out about this and went round to see Storm to see if she could help save him. After witnessing herself what he was like, but also what was happening to him, she knew she couldn't leave him there. Between her and another lady, they kept Storm safe, but were fast running out of time to find him a rescue place. Thanks to some Many Tears fosterers in this area, Many Tears heard his story and gave him that chance. He came straight to me as an experienced fosterer and he has been here for 3 weeks.
When Storm arrived he was still a little sedated, as he had only been castrated that morning, before his long drive to me. I would like to say thank you to a fellow fosterer for arranging all this and transporting him to me however Storm was not that pleased to see me! I soon realised that it was more fear than him being nasty. So with a firm NO, I opened his crate and clipped the lead on and took him to stretch his legs. By the next morning Storm was happy to see me, there was no growling or showing teeth. I let him out his crate and got a big cuddle! Later that day my daughter had him in the kitchen, poor Storm had a little accident so my daughter just went to clean it up not saying a word. Poor Storm thought he was in trouble and wet himself with fear. My daughter gave him the biggest cuddle telling him "he's safe now and no one will ever hurt him again".
When we introduced Storm to the other dogs, we muzzled him as he was very unsure of them and I have a large pack of big and small dogs. After a week the muzzle was no longer needed in the house but we still use it on walks as he is still fearful of strangers and dogs he doesn't know. We are working on this and things are improving.
Storm needs a home that, fully understands his past life and that he still needs lots of work on meeting people and other dogs which can only be done with him wearing a muzzle. Ten minutes after meeting people, once he knows they not going to hurt him, he just wants to cuddle them. Storm needs a cat and small furry free home - it must be adult only and they must have proven experience with dogs like Storm.
Within minutes of being with Storm you can't help but love him - he is the most loving boy. Storm is clean in the house, sleeps all night in his crate, loves playing with the other dogs and is learning not to be a bull in a china shop with them. He loves playing with toys, loves going for a walk, can be strong on the lead but is responsive to being told not to. He travels well in the car and knows sit, paw and stay - he is very easy to train. This is one very special dog, who just wants to love and please you.
Thank you for taking the time to read, about this boy.

27-08-15 Ace is a 1 year old poodle who has come to us because he was unsold by his breeder due to him having a Grade 5 heart murmur. Ace is a very gentle boy who is happy to be handled but will need more of a confidence boost as he is still a little shut down. He is not on medication for this at the moment but it is something that will need to be carefully monitored by his new owners and for this reason Ace is by donation. Ace is waggy when around other dogs therefore he would prefer to be rehomed with another resident dog who can also teach him about house training and how to walk on a lead. He is a beginner on the lead but will learn with encouragement. Ace is a really sweet young boy and deserves a nice warm comfy bed to call his own, so if you think you can give Ace the home he deserves then please put an application form in for him.

2-9-15 This ex-breeding female Westie is 4 year old Yuna! She is a nervous girl at the moment as the world outside of what she has known is a bit scary! Yuna really enjoys the company of other dogs and will benefit immensely from having at least one confident resident dog in her home. They will be the guiding light in her learning process on the way to becoming a well rounded and socialized little princess! Yuna, like most ex-breeders, doesn't walk on a but we will try and help her with this once she has relaxed a little. In the first few weeks she may find some things in the house a bit scary, washing machine and hoover are good examples. TV also might be frightening the first few times but we are hoping she will learn to like Eastenders (as long as she gets to sit on your lap!). Once this girl settles with you she will be a fabulous friend, please read our ex-breeding information prior to applying for Yuna.

10/09/15 Victoria is a 5 year old female, Border Terrier. She has come to us as an ex-breeding dog who is very scared and needs lots of TLC. Victoria is a confused girl who is lost in a world of fright and is not sure how to present herself when with humans. She will allow you to handle her but only with care. We think she has recently had a litter of puppies and is extremely hormonal so she needs time to adjust and settle. She would like to be homed with another dog or dogs and needs a lot of time to adjust and get used to a normal life. Victoria will need a home who are experienced with scared dogs and one without children as this would be too scary for her.
