HI, After looking at previous pages about melatonin and requiring some for my dogs, I ordered some from IHERB, as someone else had said they were good . I just received a text from DHL to say that on delivery I have to pay and extra 17 in taxes on delivery, has anyone else had this happen to them before. I may not have purchased them if I understood this better , I do have zyklene but wanted the a little extra help for my dogs ! I have purchased melatonin before and did not have this happen but could not remember where I got them from so used a name mentioned on here ! Any advice helpful, but this may just have to be a lesson learned , thanks mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

You have to pay VAT on purchases over the value of 15 including shipping from outwith the EU.

You also have to pay a handling charge to whatever courier handles the customs clearance on your behalf, otherwise you need to travel to Heathrow and do it yourself.

you need to keep foreign purchases under 16 quid to avoid customs payments. If your toatl goes over 16 quid then you have to pay customs (usually VAT) ion the s and H as well plus 8 quid to to the Uk shipping agent for handling fee.

Yes, I didn't realise either and got stung in exactly the same way when I bought in Melatonin from America. Still worked out cheaper than buying it in the UK, though, just not as much of a saving as I'd hoped after paying the import charges.

I've bought from Pipping Rock and never had a problem.
