I recieved my book club paper today and found a book on doggie knits and clothes. One of the patterns was for a Anti-firework Doggie Balacalva. If you remember Connor has a reaction to them.
Well I didnt want to pay £6 for the book so took a quick look to see if there's is free pattern on the web, and there was. I'm printing it off as we speak. Heres the link to the pdf for the pattern: http://www.bathcatsanddogshome.org.uk/uplo...gbalaclava1.pdf It has ear pads to deaden the noise, although Im not sure if Connor will wear it out as its very daft. They seem like a good idea. When chatting with friends with dogs that are nervous of gunshots, fireworks etc I have often commented that you can get ear muffs for horses but not dogs. Would be really interested to hear if they work.
Love the picture on the link. I image googled anti firework dog balaclava and found loads of amusing pics of dogs wearing them. ![]() -------------------- www.trailhoundwelfare.org.uk

mutt muffs helped my dog....... the only trouble is you should only put them on when it is noisy so it was a bit of a nightmare trying to see if they would work, i popped them on on bonfire night and after around 5 minutes she did settle down

OMG! Not sure I could have mine wear them - I would be too busy laughing
Seriously though if they work - brilliant, I have a firework sensitive JRTx and I suppose if I could knit I would give them a go - anything is worth a try. This year I am going to try in a calming plug-in. |

Then of course there are the ones for humans who get scared of loud bangs!
