Herbie is a 5/6 year old Labrador cross with probably hound/beagle and is currently on foster in Maidstone, Kent.
The Herbie Fact File Dog status: Very good Cat status: Unknown Child status: Very good, could be rehomed with children aged 5 years plus House training: Perfect Home alone: Very good, could potentially live with full time worker Basic training: Knows the basics ![]() In the words of Herbie's foster dad: 'To describe Herbs the words I would use would be, laid back , chilled , restful , so he would suit any situation, children, other dogs, older couple, families.' Herbie is very good with other dogs, he is living with a collie in his foster home and is good with dogs he meets out on walks. He can be rehomed as a single dog or with canine company. We do not know what Herbie would be like with cats or small animals. Herbie is housetrained and has a good level of basic training and house manners. He definitely falls to the lab side of life in that any crumbs in the kitchen are soon hoovered up (as is your sandwich if you leave it unattended!). Herbie gets a good level of exercise in his foster home and spends the rest of his day crashed out and snoozing or having a potter to see what his foster family are getting up to. He is a very laid back dog so could be suitable for a full time worker if he had a good walk in the middle of the day and lots of company and mental stimulation at other times. Herbie travels well in the car and is a gentleman for the vet. You could not ask for a better dog and he would be suitable for a first time dog owner. All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK. A Pre-Home Interest Form can be downloaded from www.hoperescue.org.uk and should be returned to dogs@hoperescue.org.uk -------------------- Kat

Ooh, Herbie looks rather scrummy AND he's not too far from me for once! How tall is he? He looks a bit more Beagle size than lab? Do we know how is recall is?

Sizing Herbie
Next to Bear our big lad Akita ![]() And next to Charlie Collie ![]() And a gratuitous Herbie Pic ![]() … who is described as To describe Herbs the words I would use would be; laid back , chilled , restful , so he would suit any situation , children of any age , other dogs , old couple , families. Living with a hypo Collie that needs a good hour and a half walk every day Herbs comes with us then sleeps for the rest of the day and doesn’t really move for hours. He has been offlead in his foster home and loves water and swimming but does come back when called -------------------- Kat
