Since Dogpages started 12 years ago it has helped find homes for thousands of dogs, both through the forums and the directory pages, and has raised thousands of pounds for dog rescues. Dogpages is run entirely by unpaid volunteers. We now have sufficient funds for just another three months rental on our dedicated server and so on this occasion, all funds raised will be used to top up our “server fund” to keep the Dogpages website online.

Entry costs are £1.00 per photo (except for Best Rescue - see thread). Payment should be made by Paypal * and should be made to dogrescuepages@googlemail.com

If you do not have a Paypal account of your own you can open one Here

Please make sure you provide your DP user name with your Paypal payment

* If you are unable to pay using Paypal, please contact me and I will see if I can provide another method smile.gif

- You can enter as many times as you like smile.gif
- You must own the copyright to the photo, but the photo can have been taken at any time and can be of previous fosters, now at the bridge, etc.
- You may enter photos that have been previously entered in photo competitions.
- The subject of the photo does not have to be 'owned' by you, as long as you own the copyright.
- The photo must not have been Photoshopped or otherwise altered, although cropping is fine.
- Advertising on the photo, such as commercial names or who took the photo is not allowed.

Entries should be just the photos please and the dog's/animal's name - plus age in Class 6, Golden Oldies. No further text or emoticons. There is a separate thread for chatter smile.gif

Please would you ensure that the photo you post is no more than around 500 x 500 pixels.

A guide to posting your photos to the forum can be found Here

Please contact me if you are having trouble posting photos.

If your photos are on Photobucket, here is a quick guide to resize the original, if already posted here, or you want to resize to post in the competition. smile.gif
Click on Edit under the photo concerned, (on PB) that takes you to the edit suite. When the photo has appeared, click 'resize'. The size of the photo will come up in the boxes along the top, where you have clicked 'resize'. If you delete the 640 measurement, and put 500 in its place (clicking the box to keep to scale) you can then click 'replace original photo'. You then refresh where the photo is on Dogpages, and it should resize. Make sure you use the orginal photo that is loaded on PB smile.gif

NB - due to postage restrictions, prizes can only be posted within the UK

Please ask any questions here smile.gif

Hi Bunter

So sorry if this is a stupid question or if it's already been covered somewhere else/previous years but I can't find it. When you say Best Rescue Dog, is this entry for the story of a rescue or a picture only? Was thinking it might be a story of your rescue as it says 'best' but maybe it is photos! err.gif

I'm not entirely blonde but I use it as my excuse every time tongue.gif

Thanks!

Kate

Not a stupid question at all flowers.gif

It's photos only, although in this category, you will be able to enter a 'before' and 'after' photo if you wish smile.gif All should become clearer when I open up the photo categories smile.gif

Missus BunterJo modley personage... question.

I know prizes can only be posted to the UK. I'm assuming it would be fine to donate prizes back or offer them on swop for a donation to the server fund given that we are not in the UK unsure.gif

But Thick Harris wants to know if he won several thousand rosettes could they be posted overseas if we covered the postage?

(Please excuse Thick Harris. He has never won anything in his life!).

Oh bless Harris smile.gif

I've said that prizes can only be posted within the UK as they have been donated to us and I don't want to burden the kindly people with extra postage.

However, many of the kindly people are DP people and they may well be happy to post things overseas, especially if the extra postage is covered smile.gif

Failing that, yes of course they can be put in Swap Shop. That would be very generous.

So, please tell Harris that I will be happy to post his millions of rosettes out to him tongue.gif

Didn't Harris win a lovely blankie? I could swear that Pwincess MeggieMoo asked Jack to vote for a particularly intellegent looking Harris in pointy hats and that he looked streets ahead of the competition lol.gif
Now Jack really is a dog that will never win anything err.gif although he too will need telling that he has won just to stop him stropping around tongue.gif

Hi, was wondering if it's possible to delete posts? I entered Most Handsome Dog (post 37) but the picture was the smaller size, have now posted again but can't seem to find a way to delete the previous one. Can someone help?

I do want to put some entires in, but photobucket didn't seem to be saving the resized pics that I tried to create

If I have to post ones that are bigger than they should be, can they be accepted and can you alter them for me if needs be?? (Or does too big invalidate them?)

Thank youuu
