Since Dogpages began nine years ago, any number of commercial sites and businesses have sprung up seeking to profit from dog rescue. Dogpages remains a non-commercial site run solely by volunteers. You won't find any profit-making adverts here and users of our forums won't find their details collected and sold on for marketing purposes. We hope you agree with us and support us in our belief that rescue animals should not be seen as a marketing opportunity or a source of profit. And we hope you enjoy the difference.

Firstly I would like to say THANK YOU to the organisers for the oportunity to judge the novelty classes, it was great fun (apart from rescue which always brings a lump to my throat). I would also like to say THANK YOU to all those who entered, it was great fun and every single dog today was a worthy winner but I could only choose 6 per class to award on the day and pics below of those winners. flowers.gif flowers.gif

I would also like to thank everyone involved with this event.
We had a great time, even winning a few rosettes!
We then went on to tour the rest of the Fete, it was a really nice afternoon out.
Hope it will be first of many.

See you at Dartford Show in Sept.

Thank you for judging it is never an easy job! And thanks for helping take the entries as well smile.gif

Well done for getting photos of all the winners, I always intend to but never manage it lol.gif . Chester was being very well behaved, he usually screams all day lol.gif .

I have never seen so many people at a local fete, the beer tent ran out of beer ohmy.gif and all the food stalls sold out!

I have to start getting ready for Septembers show now biggrin.gif

I did, and bought a tuggy from you! I just didn't mention DP .... She does like it though so a good buy.

We didn't win anything but it was a fab day out from a socialisation point of view which was the main reason we went (I only took my recently rehomed dog). She wasn't very keen on the hot air balloon when the flames went up though.

Yes, that was me. She's a Japanese Akita Inu .... or a wolf or a hyena depending on who you ask.

Glad you had a good day, there were loads of people there so now you know to take big dog stuff to the next one wink.gif

We came to say hi too although not sure if you recognised us?

We entered our rottie in the working pedigree class and came 3rd (out of three) as she doesnt naturally do standing still or being well behaved (as she took a pee in the ring when she was supposed to be running and then tried to eat the rosette rolleyes.gif). Although she did behave impecably when we were eating and she was overrun with children wanting to pet her, all whos parents were convined she was going to eat them (but not enough to actualy come and remove said children) lol.gif

We did also intend to enter our other two (black med x breed and teeny black and tan x breed) into best brace but missed being called as a bloke was admiring our rottie.

I now have really bad sunburn and feel ill (i think my food was a bit funky) sad.gif

That was your rottie. She moved really well, with a bit of standing training I am sure she could do well. A well made dog will naturally trot at the right pace, even if the handler is at the wrong pace lol.gif

Yep thats one of ours (we have 5), i really only did it for fun as she is our only non x breed so thought it would be nice to be in a "breed show" for once. I think we will have to get her skin issues and stop her rolling on the grass to get rid of that "just brushed feeling" first lol.gif
