Class Five - Dogs of Courage This is a class for dogs with a physical disability or serious physical illness. For example, your dog may be blind, deaf, or an amputee. Or he/she may be living with an illness/disease and showing strength of character regardless. It is also for dogs who have suffered a serious accident and made an amazing recovery. This class is open to dogs who are still with us and also to those who have sadly passed. You may enter two photographs in this class to help illustrate your dogs courage if you wish. The two pics will be charged as one single entry. Please give details of why your dog is (or was) a dog of courage - but you must keep your desciption to a maximum of 50 words. Important: Photos should be sized to give a file-size of around 30k - 50k if possible please. Please try make sure they aren't taller or wider than about 500 pixels. (With lots of photos on every page, this will enable members on a slow dial-up internet connection to see them all at a reasonable speed.) PLEASE REMEMBER TO INCLUDE YOUR DOG'S NAME WITH EACH ENTRY Even if you know HOW to post pictures, please read THIS THREAD for important information regarding the size of your pictures before you post anything! |

Diagnosed with Lupus and has severe ulceration in her mouth and on tongue causes constant discomfort, tail amputated and open sores cut out. (6th place)Syd got caught on fencing and his back was sliced from one side to the other - an awful gaping wound, he didn't cry, just came and pawed me to show what had happened, numerous stitches and excellent vets, made a full recovery. Then followed two cruciate ligament surgeries one six months after the other. A very brave little lad who never complained once ![]() ![]() -------------------- Hereford and Worcester Animal Rescue

![]() Sandy was diagnosed with cancer in his elbow in August 2008. Due to the location, amputation was the only options. In October 2008 he had his operation ![]() He braved through the pain of his arthritis in his hip, through the hydrotherapy and came out the other end with no sign of cancer. ![]() Still as stubborn as ever, my soul mate. *57.3 |

![]() Kaz was diagnosed with cancer in August 2008 and was given a very poor prognosis (not that we told him that) He never lost his zest for life and went to each chemo session wagging his tail. He did so well we started to believe he had it beaten, but on 27/03/2009 he decided he had somewhere better to go, and died peacefully in my arms Kaz before chemo ![]() And after ![]() Miss ya big guy. *105.5 |

![]() Pippa had a spinal injury in 2006 and we nearly lost her, for weeks we had to carry her everywhere. Now she's a little wonky but still runs around like crazy after her toys. Then in 2008 she fought and beat cancer. She's one tough cookie. May 2009 ![]() *127.1 This post has been edited by Barb: 21st Jul 2009, 12:52 pm |

![]() Rhomi was diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease at 8 months. Has been on and off meds for most of her life - with the steroids the side effects were almost as bad as the gut problems and she lost weight, muscle and hair. At her worst spent days on a drip but has bounced back and is currently off all medication. ![]() *131.3 |
