10-05-2017 Merry is a 2 year old bichon who has come to us from a breeder. She is a very nervous girl who is afraid of being handled and you have to approach her very slowly to pick her up. Once she is in your arms she will settle and allow you to stroke her. We are looking for an experienced adult only home (children would simply scare her) with a resident dog or dogs to help little Merry with her confidence and trust issues. She loves other dogs and loves to play in the yard with them so her new canine friend(s) must be happy to play and share their bed with her. Merry has never been inside a home so this will be scary for her at first and she will need to learn all about lead walking and house training but this will come with time. love and patience.

08-05-2017 Cadbury is a 4 year old ex-breeding bichon. She is extremely nervous and fearful of people and needs an experienced home who have had very scared dogs before. Her fear is so great at the moment that we would not home her with chilidre under the age of 16. She did dettled once she was picked up and really is very sweet - she just doesn't understand that our hands are going to be kind to her. She will need time and endless patience but the reward you will get watching her learn to trust and love you will be tremendous. Cadbury will need at least one resident dog in her new home so if you really understand what this little scared mite needs please put in your application form. She is na dog in needs of a very special home.

26-05-2017 Yodel is a very scared 4 year old ex-stud shih tzu. He is very worried about us and too frightented to,approach. Yodel will need a home experienced with scared dogs and without children. He will need at least one other dog to help raise his confidence and who he can copy to learn life skills like house training and lead walking. He has never been inside a home and this will scare him at first so he needs owners who really understand his worries and fears and who are prepared to work with him and not expect too much too soon.

02-06-2017 Roo is a 6 year old shih tzu cross who was adopted six months ago by a wonderful, kind supporter of Many Tears. Poor Roo's whole world was turned upside down when her loving owner passed away suddenly. Roo was a very scared dog in kennels trying to climb the walls to get away from people, over the last six months she has blossomed in to a dog who enjoys walks and caravan holidays. As would be expected she has reverted to hiding away in the last few days but already has started to venture out and settle on a dog bed and today when I came home from a walk Roo greeted me with a goofy smile and a little dance of joy. Roo is house trained but has regressed since arriving in foster three days ago but I'm sure she'll remember about the garden very soon. Although currently in foster with smaller dogs, Roo would be best homed with bigger dogs or with her friend Teddy who came from the same home but in the right circumstances with an owner experienced with scared dogs we would also consider homing her as an only dog. She will need an owner confident to push her to become braver but quiet enough to give her space and time to digest the changes she has under gone recently for that reason she wouldn't suit a home with young children. Roo walks well on the lead and travels quietly in the car, she is a typical shihtzu and would like to be a total princess!

17-06-2017 If you love beagles you will really love Gail. She is just 2 years old and has come to us from a breeder. As you can see from her face she is scared and worried and not used to being handled but this will improve with time. She is a reallylovely girl with a beautiful face and as we handle her more she starts to relax. She will need a home with another dog or more to help her learn about lead walking and house training. Whoever adopts Gail is going to be so lucky to watch her flourish and learn to trust. Please be the one to help her and put in an application form.

15-07-17 Lady Bird is a 4 year old cocker spaniel who has come to us from a breeder. She is a worried and gentle little dog who is lost in the world - she has dealt with life by just existing. We are looing for a very special person to help her learn that hands can be kind are hearts warm and loving. She has absolutely know idea that this is possible and it's extremely hard and sad to see her. Lady Bird will need at least one other dog in her new home but this dog must be exceptionally kind and confident. It must be happy to share it's bed with her and help raise her confidence in the world. She has never lived in a home and this is going to be overwhelming at first so we are looking for an experienced home who have helped scared dogs before. This little Lady Bird cannot fly away home because she has no idea that one exists. If you can be the one to show her please complete her application form.

05-08-2017 Mildred is a 6 year old ex breeding westie. She is a sweet little girl who has gone straight into foster with George. Mildred and George could be rehomed together without a resident dog as long as their new owners are experienced and prepared to house train and help with lead walking. If homed separately Mildred will need a confident dog who is not a push over as both her and George are bossy with other dogs but have a mutual respect for each other . If you have the time and patience she will soon learn to love her new life.

26 Special Lives Saved Because We All Care
Joey is one of 26 wonderful dogs who were living in Southern Ireland. A lady had saved them and had them living at her sanctuary. She neither had the facilities or energy to give them more and sadly when she died she left them to her son to care for. Her one request was that none were put to sleep. Many Tears had them passported and Sylvia drove to collect them (two more still remain as the son felt they were too old to travel). The dogs were living in deep mud and muck, they had little shelter and very little human company but clearly had been loved at some point. Some are old, some are young, untrained and over excited, some scared and many badly matted and filthy. It is a privilege to help them and we hope you will feel this way too.

12-08-2017 Joey is a lovely but very sad older dog. He needs a gentle and kind retirement home as he has had a very hard life. He is a very sensitive dog who tends to want to be alone as he find too many dogs and people hard to deal with so takes himself off to a corner. We are looking for someone who will give Joey the time he needs to learn about kind hands and gentle words. We do not want to home him with children or teenagers as the noise would really upset him so if you are a retired couple or live on your own are at home most of the time and looking for a a dog to help please consider Joey. He could live with a gentle, calm older dog who may help to bring him out of himself. We don't know if he has ever lived in a home so he may need house training. Joey has his own passport.

16-08-2017 Monday is a 3 year old poodle cross who is about the size of a small spaniel. When Monday arrived in her foster home she was so shut down there was no reaction at all but at the rescue she was marked as "staff only". I couldn't understand why she was but quickly learnt as she gained in confidence (or rather fear) and was SO mixed up. Anyone witnessing her behaviour at first though would have thought she was vicious. We would go in the room and she was "ok" she would lay there looking at us until the moment we went to leave and then we had to move and get out really quickly. The only comparison is like a goose herding my heels but luckily she had to get up and over the puppy pen first before she had my shins/ankles. I really thought that she was chasing me out of the room then it was Alan who said "she doesn't want you to leave! she's terrified of being left, watch.".
Sure enough he got IN the pen with her and was feeding her soft chew sticks, reassuring her that she was safe now, that nothing bad was going to happen to her. He was able to look at her teeth, play her his guitar sing to her and sit in the room. ALL the problems would arise when we got up to leave, she would lunge and try to grab our clothes and pull us back maybe scared that she didn't know the next time we'd be back it was such an odd mixed up version of separation anxiety. She was terrified of our touch yet she didn't want us to leave her, she didn't want us to move too quickly yet she needed us there. This girl is desperate to love and to be loved and desperately wants to trust that we won't hurt her. Monday just loves a facial, she lets us check her ears and her teeth.
Monday has, since being here, had her litter of puppies, trusted us to help her raise them and now it's time for them and her to find homes of their own. If you are looking for a quiet subdued girl then Monday isn't the girl for you, she likes to talk and hold a conversation with you about her day and life in general, she's rather a vocal girl whose tone has certainly changed since being here. She's not in the slightest bit vicious despite on occasions sounding it; her tail is wagging nineteen to dozen. We are working on the lead acceptance/walking but she turns into a whirling dirvish thing. Monday is a project dog but I can promise you she will return MORE than you are prepared to put in.

14-08-2017 Fran is a 4 year old ex-breeding puggle. She is very frightened of people and although she is ok to be picked up you have to catch her first. She is very frightened when handled so we are looking for an experienced owner who understands what she needs to help her learn to trust. Fran sleeps with other dogs in a bed and will need a home with at least one other dog who will allow her to do this. She needs a kind and confident canine friend to help her learn about house training and lead walking. Fran would be best in a home without children who would overwhelm.

13-08-2017 Folly Ann is a 3 year old female Shih Tzu who has come to us from a breeder. She is a petrified girl who knows nothing but fear. At the moment she is so terrified of us that she will snap out of fear so needs a home with experience of very scared ex-breeding dogs. She must be homed with at least one other very kind and similar sized dog which will help her confidence and who she can copy to learn about lead walking and house training and in a home without children. We are really looking for an extra special home for Folly Ann so if you think you can offer her everything she needs and have plenty of time, patience and understanding please apply for her.
