Baloo is available for rehoming from Wood Green in Cambridgeshire.

Baloo is an affectionate boy who loves fuss and attention from his handlers. He would like an active home with lots of regular walks and access to a garden. Baloo would be suitable to live with older, teenage children, who have a good understanding of how to interact with dogs. He should be able to be left home alone if built up to gradually. He will be best living as the only dog in the home and cannot live with cats.

Baloo came to us a stray, we have limited history on him, and all we know is that he used to live with four other huskies. Baloo would like an active home who can exercise him regularly, he loves his walks and running around the garden.

Baloo is an affectionate boy with those he knows. He loves to be groomed (which is good as that thick coat needs it!) and he will lean in to his handlers legs for a good brush. When in his kennel with him, he often jumps up for attention and would benefit from some impulse control. Cuddly interactions need to be very much on Baloo’s terms and he should be allowed to move away should he feel uncomfortable.
Baloo has shown some reluctance to be examined around his mouth in vet checks and has growled at the vet. We would recommend that Baloo has some social visits to the vets, with no pressure to be restrained so he learns that it’s not a scary place.
Baloo has had a couple of incidences where he has taken a dislike to an individual. While these could be attributed to the dental work and the strong pain killers he was on, Baloo should be introduced to strangers in a positive way and we will be starting to crate train him to help with this.
Baloo has shown no interest in toys, and would rather be off sniffing or getting attention off his handlers. We have not seen any guarding tendencies here at Wood Green.

Baloo has previously lived with four other huskies but we do not know how well they got on. On site, he will ignore other dogs that walk nearby when out on his walks. When mixing Baloo with other dogs, he appears rather stand-offish and we have not seen him play with other dogs. He comes across as quite OTT when greeting. We have not seen any reactive behaviour when mixing Baloo with other dogs, but believe he would be happiest as the only dog in the home.

As a stray we have no history from but he has Baloo has shown little interest in our livestock around site. He has ignored birds nearby, showing minimal chase drive but considering his breed it would be unlikely that he would be able to live with a cat. Any other information
He is a cuddly boy, who loves attention from his handlers. He would benefit from basic obedience training as he appears to have not had any, he loves his food and would be a joy to train.
