From the end of next month, I will have 6 chinese quails in need of at least two new outdoor, decently sized aviary homes.

Pair - a cinnamon blue-faced cock and a red breasted tuxedo hen.

Group of four cocks - cinnamon blue-faced, darth vader, blue-faced and silver tuxedo.

The group could be split into two pairs happily. At present, they are in a 6x2ft pen, and the aviary would need to be larger than this as there is still some squabbling going on. Or, individuals could be rehomed if they were going to live with a female/s of their own (note: multiple-male colonies rarely work with these birds if there are females present - one male per group only).

For both lots, any interested homes should be aware that chinese quails need their own diet (not just clearing up after the flying birds) and it needs to be fairly high protein - turkey crumb is a good choice, or high protein game crumble, if you want a complete food. These guys are currently on mixed seed with chopped dried insects.

The pair lay well and left to their own devices, would raise chicks - I have interrupted two clutches since I got them back in November!

I'm looking for new homes as I won't be able to accomodate these guys outside (I have a big flock of japanese quails already and the two species cannot safely live together), and they need more space than I can provide. I took them from a bad situation and now they need to flourish in their own aviaries.

ETA: these birds are currently living indoors, hence the need to wait until the end of next month to allow the weather to warm up so they aren't shocked by moving outside.
