Brewster - 7 year old black Labrador boy being fostered in family home with 4 other dogs in Tavistock in Devon.

History: Brewster was with his last family since a 8 week old puppy brought up with children he has come into our care due to family relocation and unable to have dogs at the new property.

Brewster came into our care after being in kennels for 3 weeks previously, he was quite stressed and worried when he first came and a bit of pest with the female dogs.

Since being neutered and having an ear infection treated we are now seeing the real Brewster who is a poppet, he is living with two other Labs, an elderly Spaniel and a bossy boy Poodle. His temperament with the other dogs we cannot fault, the Poodle can be a bit bossy and Brewster just ignores him, he plays with the younger lab, the other dogs can take toys from him etc and he will just let them if anything he is very submissive around them.

With people his tail will never stop wagging, he loves the child living in the house and will welcome anyone with open arms (not sure he will make a very guard dog).
He travels well in the car (jumps in with no problem), loves his walks and is fantastic off the lead, there is life stock up on the moors, sheep, horses etc and he has shown no interest.

House trained, he sleeps in the kitchen with the other dogs at night.

His foster home love him and said he has to find a very special home they would love to keep him themselves if they had the room.

Brewster is a big Lab he weighs 35 kilos and is a strong boy, on the lead he can pull when you first go out on a walk but he will listen and then will walk nicely but if he see somebody he will often pull to go over and say hello so this will need work and is probably his biggest fault but he responds well to training and will get there but this will have to be a factor when we are choosing the right home for him that he can be strong on the lead so no good for anyone frail or tiny.

Brewster is just a typical Lab really, friendly, bouncy and loves being with you, he will make a fantastic companion dog to somebody and would not suit working homes where will be left hours on his own, he could easily go as an only dog or with other dogs because of his nature would not suit a dog that could bully him.

Brewster is neutered, vaccinated, chipped, if you feel you are the right home for him please email us for our questionnaire starfishdogrescue@hotmail.co.uk
