Yesterday saw the arrival of Gorgeous George.
This is his thread, which I hope I am OK posting on here
http://www.irishretrieverrescue.com/2017pr...orge230817.html
We have had a very good night and he is eating really well (not surprising for a Goldie) and has been on lots of new walks which he loves. We are taking things slowly so that he and Daisy can get to know each other properly, but he loves lots of fuss and Daisy doesn't normally. She is coming for more at the moment, but that's only to be expected as she needs reassuring and they are getting herbal anxiety medication too, so hopefully they will settle together.
For anyone who has followed me in the past, you will appreciate that George is a lot like my beautiful Merlin who I lost at Christmas at the grand old age of 16. wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif
No dog can replace one lost to you, but a new personality and a new character is always a wonderful experience. and a real privilege to share.

Welcome George. He must be one of the 9 who have just arrived.

I have 2 IRR dogs. What a fantastic group of people run this rescue.

I hope you join the Facebook group as everybody is very friendly and like to hear updates on the dogs in their new lives.

George is my fourth IRR dog and I have always been supported tremendously well, as have the dogs. Everyone, past and present, really does have the best interests of each dog at heart and do a fantastic job.
Were you at Burntstump a few weeks back Dalsmum? Lovely to see so many happy looking Goldies and owners enjoying a warm, sunny day together.

Poor George seems to have had a sad unsettling life.

I'm sure he really has found his forever home this time. I hope he rewards you with years of love. I used to have two Goldens and no one can love like them wub.gif

and that's why I just had to have another Auntie Ange. When you are living on your own and need a hug, kiss and cuddle, there is nothing quite like a Goldie wub.gif

I'm afraid not. I live in the far north of Scotland so a bit too far. Maybe one day.

How lovely George has his new forever home. Looking forward in seeing more pic's of him. Bless him and you.
They never replace the dogs we have lost, but it is so rewarding to think that we can offer a lovely home to another dog who needs our help.
