We are starting to think about adopting a second dog. Looking for a collie or collie cross or possibly springer or cocker or crosses. Must be female. Would like under 6 months but would consider up to a year. I'm not necessarily looking for specific dogs yet as we have a holiday booked in our caravan in a few weeks but am looking for suggestions of rescues to keep an eye on.

Have you seen the 20 plus cocker pups that Hope have? Born in the rescue so will be well socialised.

Yes I have and I have my eye on them but suspect they will have an awful lot of interest, I imagine there will be lots of people who could offer better homes on paper than we can (we live on the edge of London, because of our working patterns they would get left alone for short periods sometimes and Douglas will need careful introductions). They are very sweet though, I really liked Bonnie as she looked a bit more working type. I also really like the look of the little cocker cross pup with sight issues they have, think she's called Lacey, she reminds me of Fleet a bit.

Probably a bit far away from you but Dog Samaritans (in Shropshire) : http://www.dogsamaritans.org.uk/Dogs-that-need-homes.html

worth keeping an eye on as they almost always have plenty of collies, and quite often unwanted farm collie pups and young dogs who have failed to make the grade.

Thank you, will definitely keep an eye on that one. I'm happy to travel pretty much anywhere in England or Wales.
